Podcasting into the new year with these 5 ladies {Friday High-Fives}

Podcasting into the new year with these 5 ladies {Friday High-Fives}

I’m an early adopter of many things. Podcasts were not one of those things. This January I decided to fill my commute with something that would feed my mind and my soul. I’ve discovered a few podcasts that I’m loving, so here’s my January roundup of what I’m currently listening to.

→ Cultivate Your Life with Lara Casey

I have been fangirling over Lara Casey and Cultivate What Matters for years now, so I was p-u-m-p-e-d that Lara was starting a podcast. Her honest narrative about life, challenges, little victories and so much more just make me want to hit repeat on these podcasts. She’s just getting started with this in 2019, so jump in now to listen to her from the beginning. I also cannot recommend her Powersheets highly enough. This is my 3rd year using them, and they’re truly life-changing.

→ The Rachel Cruze Show

I read Rachel’s book, Love Your Life Not Theirs: 7 Money Habits for Living the Life You Want, a few years ago. It’s a great read if you want to check it out. She’s so intelligent on finances, but I also love the way she approaches it with humor and reality. When I heard a few weeks ago that she was starting a podcast, I was onboard. It’s another new one for 2019, so you can get plugged into this one from the beginning too.

→ Go + Tell Gals

Another lady that I’ve been tracking with for a long time now is Jess Connolly. She’s incredible. She has a ton of different endeavors that you can check out. One of them is Go + Tell Gals. As part of this project, she’s started a podcast that always has me coming back for another dose of Jesus. She interviews so many awesome folks that just drop nuggets of truth that have had me tearing up in the car more than once. If I had to recommend one episode to get started with, it would have to be Episode 21 with Rebekah Lyons. Y’all – this episode is so special. Rebekah’s tender heart is on full display, and it just left me with a new perspective on how God views us as his children. It’s just — incredible.

→ The Next Right Thing

I can’t quite remember how I stumbled across the lovely words and smoother-than-butter voice of Emily P. Freeman, but I am so glad that I did. She is an amazing author and listening to her always warm my soul and points me back to Jesus. Her podcast is incredible. Definitely add it to your list, but I cannot recommend The Quiet Collection enough. This is a series that she does every Christmas, and it’s one of the things that I look forward to most during the Advent season. So good. So very good. She also has one of the most soothing voices I’ve ever heard on a podcast. It’s blissful.

→ That Sounds Fun with Annie F. Downs

Annie F. Downs is a hoot! I gifted her book, 100 Days to Brave: Devotions for Unlocking Your Most Courageous Self, to a friend last year. This week I finished reading her book, Remember God. Annie can make you laugh and cry with her raw honesty. It’s moving. It challenges you. And it makes you feel like it’s ok to be yourself in front of our God who always love us. I just started listening to her podcast based on loving her books, so I know that this is sure to be a fun one. Plus, she’s a fellow UGA grad!! Go Dawgs!! So, I can only hope to one day meet this stellar lady!

I hope you enjoy these podcast recommendations and that they add joy and depth to your day. I also have two free copies of Annie’s book, Remember God, that I’d love to share with you. If this is something that you’d like to read, it just takes two simple steps. The first 2 folks to respond will have the books mailed to them in February!

Step 1) Sign up for the Little Desk Letters newsletter
Step 2) Send me a note saying that you’d like a free copy of Remember God

Please note: This is not a sponsored post. These recommendations are my own, and these copies of Annie F. Downs’ book, Remember God, are not part of a promotion or sponsorship. I purchased them on my own and would just like to share this wonderful book with other folks.
